Old Time Music Midis

In 1900, E.R. Johnson first used the "His Master's Voice" trade mark, and in 1903 the first 12 inch diameter records were released on the Monarch label. HMV Italiana released Verdi's "Ernani" on 40 single sided discs. The Victor Company's Victrola model gramophone first appeared in 1906 and Victrola became a generic term. It wasn't until 1919 that electrical recording was in the experimental stage. Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra produced the first million seller with "Japanese Sandman" coupled with "Whispering" and began a major new popular music craze that boosted the record industry throughout the decade. The music presented on this page is mostly from that era.

The music has been selected for your listening enjoyment. Select your favorites and add them to your midi collection. They are for your personal enjoyment and not for commercial use. ~Music is well said to be the speech of angels:
in fact, nothing among the utterances allowed to man
is felt to be so divine. It brings us near to the infinite.~
