"Boast not thyself of tomorrow;
for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."
Proverbs 27:1

Look to this Day
For it is Life, The very Life of Life.
In it's brief course lie all the varieties
And realities of your existence
The bliss of Growth, the story of Action,
The splendor of Beauty, for yesterday
Is already a dream, and tomorrow
Is only a vision; but today,
well-lived, makes every yesterday
A dream of happiness and,
Every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this Day.
Such is the salutation of the Dawn.
From The Sandskrit

Today
This moment is a treasure,
Please don't let it slip away.
For of just such fleeting moments
God creates a precious day.
Take advantage of each hour
In the time alloted you,
For our time passes so swiftly
It's important that we do!
Tell a friend you're grateful for him,
Make a friend of someone new...
Do a simple deed of kindness,
And cheer up someone who's blue.
Make a call on someone lonely,
Write a note to someone sad,
And you'll find that in so doing
You will make your own life glad.
Have a heart full of compassion...
Selfishness will take its toll...
So make happiness of others
An exciting, daily goal.
Time's a valuable possesion,
Please don't let it slip away.
Since we know not of tomorrow
Let's be grateful for today!

To Hold A Moment
I sought to hold a moment in my hand...a
shining bit of time that would not stay...
and while I clutched it close beneath my
heart...I felt its fragile beauty slip away.
In frantic haste I closed my other hand
upon its shimmering beauty as it lay...but
time cannot be brought back once its gone
...nor yet one single moment forced to stay.

Unfoldment
Let us think of each day as a flower
Unfolding in sunshine's warm light.
A opening bud in the morning,
A beautiful blossom at night.
The hours, like fairest-hued petals
Unfolding in God's tender love,
Reflecting His beauty and goodness
In thoughts that come from above.
And flowerlike, breathing out fragrance
To all who may come our glad way,
The Father's compassion and sweetness
Touching all that we do or say.
And when night's golden stars look downward,
And soft, cooling dew fills the air,
May we see our day as a flower...
God's own and divinelyu fair.
